Redpoll
Garden Bird Watching
The Redpoll is a type of finch and is present in Britain all year round and like Goldfinches and Siskins will come to the feeder for nyjer seeds. Both sexes have the red cap but only the adult males have the pinky red breast. Exact identification is a little complicated as there are actually three types of Redpoll that can be seen in Britain all of which appear fairly similar to the casual observer.
